The latest news in blockchain gaming is the recent seed round funding for Azra Games. This game developer recently raised a $10 million investment for its blockchain gaming development.
According to Andreessen Horowitz, which led the funding top-up, this team is experts in crafting immersive RPG games. In an interview with Fortune, Arianna Simpson from a16z stated that the team has “a deep understanding of how to craft compelling and exciting RPG experiences.”
Avalon Corp Raises $13 Million To Build A New Interoperable Universe

Avalon is an Orlando-based company that is building a new interoperable digital universe, and it has raised a funding round of $13 million. The round was led by Bitkraft Ventures and included investors like Hashed, Delphi Digital, Mechanism Capital, Coinbase Ventures and Yield Guild Games.
The team at Avalon includes gaming industry veterans who have experience working on a wide range of titles, including Everquest, Call of Duty, Diablo, God of War, Assassin’s Creed and Elden Ring. It also has a number of developers who are experienced with coding for game engines.
They are looking to create an AAA-quality metaverse gaming experience. They also plan to include a cloud gaming component, which means that data will be stored online as opposed to being housed on the user’s computer.

Hong Kong-based blockchain gaming company Animoca Brands, backed by Sequoia China and Singapore’s state fund Temasek Holdings, is looking to invest “tens of millions” in the Middle East as it continues to make large bets on Web3 start-ups. Co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu said the firm has seen great opportunities in the region, which he says offers favorable regulations on cryptocurrencies, strong gaming culture, and youthful population.
The company is now partnering with a major Middle East production firm in anime, games and comics to launch a Web3 project tailored to the region’s audience. The team will also explore the feasibility of a dedicated local game publishing platform. Moreover, the partnership will promote and unveil MENA (Middle East and Northern Africa) Web3 creators.
